Kor and Jay are in KL right now till the 26th. Sis stayed over in our place yesterday just for a night and that's the first time spending so many hours with her. we sorta have a love-hate relationship atm maybe because of the age difference i suppose. i'm sure we can work that out in the future. ;)

first stop was at Fahrenheit 88 since i parked my car there.

later on, we walked over to Lot 10, Sg. Wang and then to Times Square. :O uber tired at the end of our shopping spree!

headed home to pick Mr. Dong and Nia (who was over to do assignment) and had dinner nearby - Japanese BBQ!

at 1ish, we've decided to sing our hearts out at Replay, Scott Garden till 4 in the morning! and i was a happy girl cause certain Mandarin songs has pin yin! imagine my happiness! woo hoo! :D

i actually saved all the pin yin lyrics of songs i wanted to sing into my laptop and brought it there. LOL! i hope they will have pin yin for more songs soon so i no longer have to sing like a noob. :3

Sis and i were out at Pavi today but i look abso weird in all the pictures taken with the United Buddy Bears. idky but my face is so puffy like pao. =.='

anyways, the best part of today was we finally went to Hammam at Bangsar Village! it's our Christmas present from Justin and Honey last year which will expire in 6 days. LMAO!

our treatment for tonight was - My Favourite Concubine Hammam which costs RM315 per pax. we were dumbfounded by the amazing dimly lit interior at Hammam. it was as if we were transported to Morocco, greeted with all things Moroccan once we stepped inside, from the wooden doors to the hanging lamps, teapots, colorful mosaics, ornamental and somehow a relaxing scent.

we were taken to individual rooms to change into disposable clothing to cover the essentials and robe as well as keeping all our of our belongings into the lockers provided.

* bath area.

Step 1

Hammam
Hot water is used to acclimatise body to room temperature. A layer of Beldi Black Soap (a substance of olive and eucalyptus oil) is applied onto the body and is left on for 10 minutes. This swells up the epidermis layer, killing bacteria and also soften dead skin.

Step 2

Gommage

Gommage (scrub in French), is done to remove dead skin off the body. It is done using a glove that has silk materials so that it will not be too harsh for the skin.

Step 3

Moorish Body Polish

After skin is stripped off of dead skin, a layer of Moroccan volcanic clay mixed with seven kinds of dried plants was applied and left on for 10 minutes. As an extra treat, a hair masque was also applied. This hair masque is a mixture of volcanic clay, olive oil and Damascus rosewater.

Step 4

Rinse

Using a shower gel with rosemary essence and a geranium shampoo, both body and hair masque were rinsed off.

it was kinda odd to have someone to bath us at the age of 21. =.=' we were cool with that though. just let them do their job and you'll walk out with smooth and clean skin!

P.S.: please don't waste your money for this if you're not comfortable with a woman touching you all over (including your ass + boobies).

treatment was then followed by a 45mins Aromatic Massage in the Couple's Massage Room. this room is really romantic and pink. it even has a private bath tub and resting area! unfortunately, we were only there for the massage.

our heavenly time in Hammam has finally came to an end after the massage. we would love to return for another treatment or two next time when we have the money cause it's actually kind of pricey. :/

final post for my HK trip (combining Day 4 +5 together). been delaying for months. =.=' sooooooo sorry to those who are waiting for updates. such a failed blogger! :( right. chop, chop. let's start!

Day 4 is dedicated for Ocean Park! we chose it over Disneyland cause i've been there before back in 2009. didn't even blog about my HK + China trip till today. *slaps forehead* and i don't think Mr. Dong will like it considering the fact that it's more suitable for kids. the only ride i took was Space Mountain cause rest was too kiddo. =.='

Day 4

woke up at 7ish and off for to fill up our tummies before a long day.

we were kinda confused with the map i've printed out but managed to find it by asking a few locals. breakfast at Australia Dairy Co. was beyond satisfactory though they serve simple food such as eggs and breads. everything was so yummy we actually thought of going back for supper since they close at 11 pm. heh.

* ordered both House Specialty.

* Milk Tea.

* Egg and Ham Sandwich.

*Scrambled Eggs with Toasts.

* Macaroni and Ham in Soup

okayyy. don't remember how we ended up here. should be by the MTR and walked for a bit. thought going to Tim Ho Wan on a Monday morning should be queue-free, since it's a working day right? but i was dead wrong! had to wait for an hour so we just pass la. :(

next destination which was the highlight of the day - Ocean Park! yaysssssss! :D

took the MTR to Admiralty then got on Bus No. 629. the queue for the bus was seriously crazy.it was at least 10 meters. not joking! but thank God the bus was pretty frequent and we didn't have to wait for too long. :)

after about 15 mins on the bus, we're here!

first show at Whisker's Theater - Sea Lion Fun Time.

took the cable car to The Summit (from The Waterfront). it was close to an hour's queue. =.=' imagine the torture we have to go through under the scorching sun, "kissing" our skin. :O

it was really, really hot (considering it was summer!) and we bought this combo thingy once we reached The Summit. comes with a huge ass Coke and a bunch of fries. :D

next life saver, Watermelon! sure did help to cool us down from the horrible weather.

made our way to Adventure Land and managed to take only 2 rides:

1. Space Wheel (only 15 mins queue. thank God!) and

2. Raging River (an hours's queue! =.=')

reasons why we only had 2 rides throughout the entire Ocean Park:

1. too many people!

2. some people cut queue! bloody assholes!

3. no shades while queuing (some has umbrellas but since the queue was too long, still have to queue under the sun!)!

4. at least 45 mins to queue!

* Raging River.

second show of the day - Sea Dreams at Ocean Theater.

walked around the Pacific Pier Ocean and it was announced that the Cable Car Station was really packed. the other alternative was to take the Express Summit Station which i think was so much more convenient and faster than taking the cable car!

our last stop:

* the pandas were so lazy and was just sleeping and lazing around. :(

initial plan was to leave Ocean Park at 5ish for The Peak but i thought of going shopping at Causeway Bay instead.

alighted from the bus somewhere in Causeway Bay and searched for Matchbox Cafe! another cafe recommended by All About Hong Kong.

we ordered 2 of their famous set meals:

A) Old Days Tea Set which consists of:

1. Milk Tea

2. Buttered Toast + Scrambled Eggs

and 3. Spaghetti in Soup with Char Siew.

additional order:

* Fried Rice.

* Polo Pao.

B) Special Tea Set which consist of:

1. Banana & Walnut Pancakes.

2. Chicken Pie in Pea Soup.

and 3. Milk Tea

really like the concept of this restaurant. food here was ok. not very memorable but the dessert was absofuckinglicious. really different from typical HK desserts. the Chicken Pie in Pea Soup was a bit odd (you can tell it's a weird combi from the name) during the first few bites but after that i realized it's actually very good!

forgotten what we did or where we went after that. should be just shopping around Causeway Bay. aaah. memory is failing on me already. :/

Day 5

woke up a lil later today since it was our last day and i thought we should relax a lil bit. :)

breakfast at Kam Wah Cafe. yet another typical HK Char Chan Teng. nothing to shout about apart from their Polo Pao which was no doubt the best in HK!

* Polo Pao - abso yums! no wonder it's so famous!

* French Toast.

* Macaroni in Soup with Char Siew.

* Sausage, Ham and Egg. so oily!

wandered around 'Gold Fish Street'. managed to buy Bambie a dress and a toy from one of the many pet shops. kinda disappointed cause it was nearly 12 and most shops very not open yet!

last round of shopping in a random mall. i've forgotten which area. :X

literally went crazy in 2% since most of the items were 50% off! :D

went back to the hotel and packed all our remaining hauls into the luggage before checking out and off the airport.

* final stop!

just had to buy this for the last time. heh.

got a lil lost in one of the MTR Stations cause we alighted a station earlier. silly us! =.=' the counter guy was kinda rude while trying to explain how to get to the airport. grrr.

arrived at HKIA just in time for our boarding. no time for airport shopping. :(

5 days and 4 nights in HK was deffos not enough albeit the jolly good time we had on shopping and eating. wish to visit there again with more moolah the next time! enough of holiday for this year. it's time to slow down on travelling and save more money for other stuffs or perhaps for travelling in 2013 (no holiday plans for 2012!).

thank you, Mr. Dong for the wonderful + memorable time in HK. sorry that you only get a lil sleep despite having to walk non-stop from morning till night. heh. :P

Xīn Jiā Pō 2 weeks after the last visit.

Day 1

wake up in the morning feeling like ~~P. Diddy~~ a zombie! not enough sleeeeeeep. touched down at 12ish am. can't believe we went to USS again. it was kinda boring to me already though it's my 2nd time. idk how ze bff can stand going there for the 3rd time and she's going there again when her family's in SG. O.o

not much pictures this time since i've already been there. feet hurts like mad cause of my Onitsuka shoes. idky it hurts wearing em. they are my size! actually it's kinda like my fault cause i know it will hurt my feet (experienced that a few times) yet still insisted on packing em in my luggage. wtf?! =.='

anyways, got home for a short rest and quick shower and out again for dinner at Cugini. read positive reviews on food blogs about this little Itallian restaurant on Ann Siang Hill.

* Risotto Mari E Monti - Risotto w Seafood and Mushroom.

* Spaghetto Amatriciana -Spaghetti with crispy Italian bacon, tomato sauce and Pecorino cheese.

supper + ketchup sess over Sugarcane + Lemon (is it a Singapore thing?) later on with Sheldon, Ki Yong and Darren at some food court in Chinatown. aaah. what a tiring, tiring night for us being out for more than 12 hours!

Day 2

Sunday morning, ~~rain is falling~~ had brunch at PS. Cafe, Ann Siang Hill. such a chic cafe. with sophisticated, hip and trendy settings and somehow one can sense a certain posh factor to its ambiance when stepped in. simply love the elegant black and white interior! kudos for the attention paid to the details.

* Eggs Benedict - traditional poached eggs with ham and hollandaise on a toasted English muffin.

* Breakfast Sandwich - fried eggs with tomato, bacon and melted Gruyere on toasted croissant.

i must say that brunch was extremely satisfying. we both agreed its the most expensive brunch we've ever had! didn't even order drinks sia. will come back with more moolah next time time so we can order more things to share and try out. and must order a cup of coffeeeeeee! what's breakfast w/o coffe, eh? :/

off to Little Dröm Store/Kki which was 5 mins away! have not visited in awhile (the last time was 1st of January 2011). still the same quirky store which sells an array of little knick-knacks, handmade accessories, vintage items and also collections of all things inspiring and heartening.

took the earliest flight back to KL the next morning and breakfast with Mr. Dong at Earth Food. :) aaah. how i missed the silly boy though i was just away for 3 days!

* Fritto Misto - a medley of deep-fried bite-sized seafood served with homemade tartare sauce.

* The Loaded Club - grilled chicken, turkey bacon, roasted capsicums + avo + feta mash, stacked on egg mayo spread, held together by three slices of home-made white bread.

this is my fav among all the other restaurants under the BIG Group. Plan B offers a wide variety of modern Aussie x New York food and drinks - from breakfast up to supper! really love cozy ambiance and comfortable setting. it was like as if i'm dining in Big Apple. haha. :P

and Liz + Sher are finally back from Melb! can't wait to meet them especially Liz to collect my Melissa Shoes! been wanting to get them for the longest time ever since the day i know about their existence. i'm so glad they finally were on sale. sorry, but i can't afford to pay full price. :P 2 pairs for only $115 AUD + free delivery in within Aus. thank you so much, Liz for bring em jelly babies back for me. :)

lunch at Fat Spoon before we went furniture shopping for our new unit in October. i've read so much about this quaint little cafe from a few blogs but never found the time to go and search for it. since we were already in PJ, i thought of having our late lunch there.

unique, charming, odd, quirky, old school and nostalgic - that's how i'll describe this place. when i stepped in, memories of yesteryears flashes. almost everything looked so familiar.

* how do you like Fat Spoon? :)

remember reading 'Peter & Jane' while i was still in kindergarten. they pasted their menus onto the pages of these Ladybird books. sheer brilliance, eh?

Fat Spoon serves homecooked Nyonya cook with a twist from Grandma's recipes.

* Nasi Ulam with Friend Chicken.

* Fat Spoon Noodles - love it!

this is the only place in KL by far (among all the eateries i've been to) which serves Poh Piahs that are similar to Penang's. i really dislike the KL style Poh Piahs, filled with lots of turnip and crispy stuffs. :/ really miss the ones from Mt. Eskrine. always ask the Uncle to add more crab meat. :D

back to Fat Spoon, i really like the interior and admire the effort put into renovating this place. the mismatched old furniture and decors makes it stand out from the rest of the typical Nyonya restaurants. favourite part would be the toilet's "wallpaper" which is made from old comic book spreads! come to think of it, this place is really eco friendly (am i using the right term here?). giving new lease of life to old furniture and recycling old books and decorative items. they even converted an old sewing table into a table!

food here = comfort food - simple and unpretentious. reasonably priced too! maybe i should bring my family there when they are in KL for Christmas. ;)

before my Lady Boss left for NY, we had lunch at Bar Italia. i think we had the restaurant to ourselves since it was almost 2.

we shared a pasta and a spring chicken.

* Fettuccine Carbonara.

* Roasted Spring Chicken.

food was okay but the Roasted Spring Chicken took forever to be served! but deffos worth the wait. the meat was very aromatic, soft and tender. pasta was not very memorable. i've tasted better ones. didn't like the music they were playing. not suitable for the environment. imagine all the latest hits playing while you're having Italian food. =.='

before i forget, Happy Birthday, Grandpa Khor! see you this weekend. :) Daddy is paying for my flight tickets home just to have family dinner. :D

last weekend, we went ice skating with Nia at Sunway Pyramid. as lame as it sounds, it was actually pretty fun! hahaha. :P

took some Christmasy pictures around the mall while waiting for Nia to arrive.

anyone of you Penangites remember the ice skating ring in Bukit Jambul? used to frequent it pretty often when the mall was still brand new. it's a pretty dead mall now, infested with ....... :S

dinner at Ole-Ole Bali! aaah. how i miss Balinese food. few more months till we visit again. :D

after breakfast at Imbi Market, went Shu Uemura, KLCC for a makeover to participate in the WKW x Shu Uemura - Masked Beauty Transformation. there was a girl who helped me take the picture via the iPad and uploaded it on the spot. i actually prefer if Mr. Dong were the one who took the pictures instead so i can take as many as i want without having to feel bad/awkward! :P to be honest, i'm not very satisfied with my submission but i didn't wanna trouble the girl anymore. kept apologizing to her after every retake. :/

and i actually forgot my complimentary A4 portrait, dolled up in one of Jonathan Cheng's evening gowns for purchasing above RM 350. *slaps self!*

moving on, EC Festival at Publika.

on the 14th of November, it was our monthly-versary. we don't celebrate it all the time but Mr. Dong decided to take me out for dinner that night. :D

craving for Italian and considering whether to go Bar Italia or Ciao. since neither of us have been to Werner's on Changkat, thought we should give it a try.

* complimentary bread.

* Pizza Hawaiian - smoked turkey ham, pineapple mayonnaise and garnished with arugula and roma tomato.

* Werner's Favourite (with Penne) - house specialty with smoked duck, chili, basil, shallots and white truffle oil.

* Carbonara (with Fettuccine) - with beef bacon, egg yolk, black pepper, nutmeg and parmesan.

food at Werner's did not disappoint especially Werner's Favourite. the smoked duck was an abso yummers! i kinda like the presentation on my Carbonara - huge piece of bacon wrapping the fresh yolk. shouldn't have ordered the pizza cause we were really stuffed. not to mention the Latte we insisted to order as desserts despite being uber full. :P caffeine addicts. tsk, tsk. :S

2 weeks ago, Kor, Jay + her friends, Aunty Mary, Christian + Alex went to Genting since it was the school holidays. Mr. Dong and i took a bus up there to meet them on Friday night. not much captions since pictures are self explanatory. heh. :)

breakfast on Saturday morning at KFC. first time having their breakfast - a.m. Riser.

* mmm. coffee is as good as milk! :P

since it was drizzling, we had no choice but to stay at the Indoor Theme Park for a bit.

ta pao-ed food for Aunty Mary and the kids and to the Outdoor Theme Park again. i have to say Genting is kinda boring and the rides are just so-so after going to USS twice. yup, twice. yet to update the 2nd time there. heh. :P

end the night by chilling at Starbucks. that place is bloody filled! maybe that's the only "in" spot in Genting? LOL!

and if you're wondering why there are no pictures of Jay, that's cause she was not with us the entire trip. i only get to see her before we're about to head out whenever we're about to sleep. =.='

aaah. it's good to spend some quality time with the family though it's just 2 days. can't wait to be home again end of next month. oh. and before that, Kor, Jay and Ama might be coming over for Christmas. yays! :D

suppose to on my way to Phuket now with Mr. Dong but due to some probs from work, our holiday is cancelled. T.T imagine my anger and frustration when i found out! >:@ been looking forward to our beach + island hopping escapade for the past few months. everything has been planned out but oh wells, what can i do? :(

anyways, unhappy thoughts aside and time to get back to my Hong Kong trip! 1 more post to go and i'm done. :)

on our 3rd day in HK, it was Shopping Day! :D unfortunately, i woke up with a swollen right eye. wtf?! which explains why there won't be much pictures of myself. for breakfast, we headed to Central. my "studies" show that Lang Fong Yuen is on the top of the list but to our dismay, it was closed. it had a Mandarin note on the stall and according to other tourists (i asked them what the note means), they have moved to Sheung Wan. omg! sadded! :(

feeling disappointed, went through my stack of papers for alternatives and found out Lin Heung Tea House is just around the corner. so Dim Sum for breakfast it is!

it was really packed to the brim considering it was a Sunday but we managed to get ourselves a table, right beside the kitchen! :D

whenever the cart is out, Mr. Dong will chiong with all the other people and grab whatever he can. LOL!

it was almost 11 and i'm surprised most shops are not open yet/only about to open!

next stop, Tai Cheong Bakery for eggtarts! hmmm. :D

random boutique in a random lane. bought a floral dress for myself while Mr. Dong bought some stationery.

continued walking and here we are at Pottinger Street, also known as Stone Slab Street. granite stone steps are apparently rare in HK nowadays.

went for round 2 of crazy shopping in H&M. idk what's with me and H&M but i think the clothes there are nice + affordable. what say you? :)

we then stumbled upon Duddell Street and thought it rings a bell. went through our itinerary once again and found out that's where Starbucks Bing Suit is located (which we only intended to visit in the evening). good news for Mr. Dong cause i'm sure his feet need some rest from all the walking. :P

so this 1950s Starbucks is a collaboration between Starbucks X G.O.D. everything is so retro!

before leaving for TST, we thought why not hop on a 'Ding Ding' just for the fun of it. heh.

alighted at the next stop, searched for the MTR Station and off to TST for more shopping. yays! :D

wanted to have lunch at Ipudo HK, Silvercord but there was a long queue. :( so we just had a quick and simple lunch at Food Republic.

* Taiwanese Food.

walked to Heritage 1881 to look for Paul Lafayet (which is actually located in K-11). idky why i kept thinking it's located there. aaah. no wonder it is nowhere to be found. LOL!

Heritage 1881 was previously the headquarters of the Hong Kong Marine Police from the 1880s to 1996. very unique Victorian architecture representing its rich colonial background. it's also a boutique hotel - Hullett House. i personally like the Aldridge and Silvermine Suites cause the rest of the suites are kinda OTT.

explored this 122 years old building instead of shopping cause there's nothing we can afford inside. haha.

went to New Town Mall/Arygle Centre for another round of shopping. i prefer places like these (Prangin Mall/Sg. Wang type) cause non-branded stuffs are so much more affordable. which means i can buy more! :D and honestly, i did not step in to any high-end boutiques throughout our trip apart from Cartier, Heritage 1881 to inquire about the Trinity Bracelet.

searched for Langham Place cause our dinner place - Chee Kei is located somewhere in that 15 storey mall. decided to shop first though it was already 10 pm. crazy sia. :P

Chee Kei apparently serves the best Wantan Noodles.

we love this place cause it's a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city - quite + surrounded by greeneries. they play Indie musics too! i think it would be even better if they serve nice cakes! :P anyways, my fav drink would be - Red Espresso Latte. give it a try if you're there to visit. ;)

let me update about my SG trip first since ze bff + Darren said i'll take forever to update! which is actually kinda true. :P

so i took a flight to Singaland on Fri evening. flight got delayed so i was about an hour late! i'm so sorry guys! :/

it was Sheldon's birthday and the birthday boy feels like Italian so we had dinner at Trattoria, Somerset.

* Tagliolini Neri Al Salmone (mine), Spaghetti Carbonara (Don and Ki Yong), Beef Lasagna (Darren) and Pesto Pasta (Cheryl).

after dins, went shopping at H&M and went crazy like when i was in HK. everything is so cheap (don't convert!) sia. spent almost 1/2 of my money in within less than an hour. :/

short coffee break at Starbucks later on before Ki Yong sent all of us home.

Day 2

woke up quite early in the morning cause Cheryl said need to chiong with all the people for USS. LOL! took the MRT from Potong Pasir to Harbour Front and had breakfast at Toast Box, Vivo City cause we need energy to chiong! :P Ki Yong joined us not long after and off we go via the monorail in the mall.

this is the 2nd US that i've visited. the first one was US Florida back when i was 6. LOL! the only ride i remember was E.T. Adventure. was on the first seat on the bicycle and the basket E.T. was in, was right in front of me. ahhh. memories! :')

first stop, Revenge of The Mummy at Ancient Egypt. the ride was awesome! can you handle huge fireballs, swarms of scarab beetles and an army of warrior mummies? best part of this ride is that everything is in the dark! yup. in total darkness. :O

we took that ride twice. cause KY needs the preparation before Battlestar Galactica (BG). LOL! BG HUMAN was closed for a short maintenance so we took the BG CYLON first. both were exhilarating max with unbelievable thrills and we screamed our lungs out throughout the entire ride.

next, it was Water World at The Lost World. the other themed area - The Jurassic Park was closed for upgrading til Jan! :( we watched the action packed live water show filled with thrills and spills from real explosions of fire and water. thank God we were seated at the back cause those in front got soakin' wet before the show even started!

went for Shrek 4D. through the Ogre Vision, we went on an adventure together with Shrek and Donkey to help save Princess Fiona from evil Lord Farquaad! got to see, hear and actually feel the action right from our seats. the jumps, bumps and humps, water spray, air blasts, etc which actually brought the whole adventure to life.

Cheryl's dream came true!

Lights, Camera, Action is about special effects/movie magic done in an empty sound stage. we stood in a "boathouse" by the "harbour" to witness how a calm day suddenly turns into a Category 5 major hurricane about to hit NYC.

Monster Rock is something like Glee only with Frankenstein, Dracula, Mummy, Phantom of The Opera, Werewolf, etc singing and dancing in the spooktacular rock-n-roll show.

gave Accelerator a try since Cheryl have not been on it yet (this is her second time to USS).

Day 3

woke up a lil late since we don't have anything much to do today + shag from the fun in the sun the day before. read about I ♥ Tai Mei from a food blog. i forgot how but i did send the link over to Cheryl before i went to SG. we went hunting for this place only to find out it's a Bugis Street. LOL!

the combo costs $7.90 and comes with a main course, a side dish and a drink.

all their food is named after famous Taiwanese celebs such as Selina, Ella, Hebe, 大 S, 小 S and 3 more that i can't read cause they are in Mandarin. :S

i ordered their best seller Selina - BBQ Crispy Chicken. here's the story:

our BBQ Crispy Chicken is like no ordinary friend chicken. First, we fry the lightly breaded chicken into golden brown. We then immersed the crispy chicken in our "Secret Sauce" that's made with more than 20 herds and spices to allow the chicken infused with the defining flavor. On the grill, the heat seals in the jiuce and the flavour that makes it hard to resist!

my side dish is Tofu Fries flavoured w Seaweed while Cherly picked Cheese. as for my drinks, i ordered Green Milk Tea. it was so good i had second servings.

after a good shopping sess at Bugis Street, we went over to MBS to see see look look since i have not been there. heh.

checked out a few shops before high-tea at TWG Tea Saloon & Boutique. heard so much about this place and it's time that i give it a try. :) ordered Imperial to share. there's 2 TWGs in MBS btw. one in front of Cartier/LV and another one located on a raised platform near the gondola area.

the list of tea is madness! there were so so so so so so so many options, you'll be spoilt for choices. we were contemplating on which tea to order for a bit and decided to ask the waiter for his recommendations.

* Evening in Shanghai? i've forgotten the name.

* a choice of 3 macarons and 2 freshly baked scones and muffins served with.......

* .......TWG Tea jelly and whipped cream.

* Paris Bruschetta - warm open face sandwich with turkey ham, mushrooms,

had a lovely time slowly enjoying the food + environment while yakking away like chatterboxes. :P

visited the brand new LV Island Maison. this beautiful Maison is designed by award-winning architect - Peter Marino. this is the first Maison which sits directly on water, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the stunning Singapore skyline and the MBS. it is also the 12th Maison in the world and the first Maison in SEA.

don't really celebrate this day and to date, this is my 3rd time celebrating and i've never dressed up to the extreme before. should try that next year! i think the my favourite is still my 1st Halloween back in 1996 when i was in The States, dressed up as Esmeralda from Hunchback of Notre-Dame. LOL! i'll try to find the picture when i'm back to PG and post it up here. heh. :)

i'm sure most girls enjoy to have a pampering sess of mani + pedi once in awhile to have pwetty nails. had my nails done at JJ Nail Studio at Mid Valley yesterday. managed to get a good deal online via I Love Discounts few months ago.

they had this special package for RM 39 instead of RM 105 in conjunction of their 13th Anniversary. this entire awesome package includes:

- A 60-minute Classic Manicure
- A 75-minute Classic Pedicure
- Feet Callus Removal
- Feet Scrub - Exfoliation

the services above are actually what most nail studios provide but at only RM 39, i don't think they will do it lor. heh. topped up an additional RM 65 for the 3D nail arts, bling blings and glitters.

just when i thought it'll be awhile till i get to be back in Penang, i was back beginning of the month for just about 2 days. heh.

Day 1

arrived in the afternoon on Sat and off to SQ to send Bambie for a shower. yes, Bambie went back to Penang to visit as well. :)

for dinner, we attended the DAP Bukit Bendera Fund Raising Dinner at Straits Quay Convention Center.

that's the only picture i took for that night. sorry! food was served pretty sloooooooow. people cheered and clapped their hands pretty much throughout the dinner in support of what the CM - Lim Guan Eng and his fellow people said on stage.

Day 2

did nothing much in the morning since i woke up pretty late. had lunch with Daddy, Kor Kor and Alex at Xuan Xin, Gurney.

ordered my fav Dim Sum before the dishes were served.

in the evening, Jay and i went for mani + pedi session at Blossom Nail Spa, Straits Quay. was supposed to get my nails done the day before but it was fully booked cause i did not make any appt prior that.

visited Mum for a bit before dinner with Ah Kong and Ama at Song River.

after dinner at Song River (which i have not been there for at least 1 year!), we headed to Haagen Dazs for fondue caused Ama promised Christian ice-cream. haha. :P

back to KL early in the morning with Uncle Justin and Bambie the following day. sorry for a lot of missing pictures! i'll make sure the next post has more pictures than this one. ;)

so i was back in Penang for 6 days during the Raya/Merdeka holidays. :) Mr. Dong was there too but just for a day (he was already there a day before me for his class). this will be a brief post as i'll just write about those with pictures.

Day 1

had breakfast at Tho Yuen after Kor picked me up from the airport for breakfast together with Ama, Christian and Mr. Dong.

one of my favourite place to eat whenever i'm back in Penang is the Old Folk's Home at Scotland Road. not sure if you guys have been there or heard of it but the food there is really yummeh! unfortunately, it is not longer operating cause idky and i've no idea whether they've moved elsewhere or already stopped their business. anyways, while searching for what to eat besides Lok Lok, i stumbled upon 2 familiar faces - the Aunties from the Old Folk's Home! omg! imagine my happiness. :D LOL! so i asked them where they have relocated and ordered Roti Babi + Spring Rolls. fyi, they have a stall now at 'Chu Chang Ka'.

imagine waking up at 7.30 for the dentist when you slept at 4! :S luckily i have Kor to get my number for me instead and let me sleep in til 11. heh. had lunch at Blue Reef, Straits Quay with Kor, Christian and Jay.

we were all coincidentally wearing stripes! :O

off to dental appointment at Adventist. it was deffos my first time (and last time, hopefully!) to spend so many hours in the dentist. never liked dental appointment. :S almost 2 hours plus of waiting + another 2 hours plus of.......

finally extracted 2 upper teeth (cause i think my teeth still looks funny). should have extracted since i put on braces back in April 2007. i actually wanted to come back a month later for extraction but the nurse managed to convince me to do it on that day. almost teared listening to her telling me the process. :X to my surprise, it actually didn't hurt as much as i expected mainly because i was feeling all numb. (Y)

a lot of people have been asking me when i will remove my braces. i think 9 outta 10 people asked me that the first thing whenever we meet. =.=' answer is hopefully by mid next year la. :#

my last day in Penang was also Suk Yi's birthday. Wei Keat arranged a surprise party for her at Summer Garden and secretly invited all of us. didn't attend the party cause Mummy wanted to have dinner with me before i leave. sorry!

Mr. Dong and i had the opportunity to watch 'Warrior' last night at TGV, KLCC all thanks to Churp Churp! it all happened when i was browsing through FB, saw their post and thought why not just participate since it was easy peasy. all i have to do was comment on the movie poster!

here's the second post for my HK trip. not much pictures for this day as i forgot to charge my battery the night before. T_T

Day 2

initial plan was to have breakfast at Lin Heung Tea House, Central and leave for Macau from Sheung Wan. but we overslept! so no breakfast for us and departed from TST instead.

* just in time for our ferry.

journey to Macau was approximately an hour. managed to take a short nap while on the ferry. heh.

randomly hopped on the shuttle bus to Grand Lisboa.

didn't know which direction to walk, we took a cab from there to have our lunch at Cheong Kei which is located at Rua Da Felicidade.

this is another small restaurant. rather cramped up but yet another experience not to be missed! we ordered 2 servings of their signature - Shrimp Roe Noodles/Har Zi Meen. i find it a tad too dry for my liking.

we then walked around the area and came across Serrdura for Serradura or commonly known as Sawdust Pudding. it is basically layered chilled dessert made from vanilla cream and crushed biscuits. apparently the famous one is from Mok Yi Kei. since we do not have a map there, this one is good enough. heh.

next stop, Café e NATA for Portuguse Eggtarts! searched high and low for this place and took just at least 30 mins to locate it. =.=' but it was deffos worth it. bought 1/2 dozen of Margaret'

spent some time here enjoying every single bite of the hot + crispy Pou Tat while looking at other people queuing up for theirs. :P FYI, there are 2 queues in the shop. 1 to place your order(s) and 1 to collect your order(s). make sure you queue at the right one! ;)

we then walked to Senado Square for some shopping + exploring. nothing much to buy honestly. you can find everything back in HK apart from a few boutiques in like hidden alleys.

purchased a few boxes of biscuits from Koi Kei. this place is packed like sardines compared to others. judging from the amount of people, i have to say it is the place lor. besides, with over 12 branches in Macau and 3 more in HK, i can't be wrong right? during the last trip to Macau (2009) the tour guide took us here as well. so this must be the place after all. LOL! after the aggressive shopping at Koi Kei, we continued our "journey" to Ruins of St. Paul which was already right behind us.

came across this shop - Macau Creations. this shop is a place where local artists work together with the integration of the culture and history of Macao, resources of art and tourism, in producing creative products and souvenir for tourists and hand over to the world a smiling card that tells the new secret of the old city. the location of this shop is very very strategic. just on your right if you're walking down the stairs of Ruins of St. Paul.

we then randomly stumbled upon Poon Weng Kee Biscuits. remember reading about this place from a blog. they uses only egg yolk, flour, sugar and butter as the ingredients. every single cookie is painstakingly and laboriously made by hand!

ordered a big box cause i actually thought it only comes in a standard size til i saw some people walking away with small bags. :/ have to wait a tad while cause the biscuits were made fresh in front of me!

strolled some random streets and alleys and came across Gong Cha! about the same price here but comes in a bigger size and the Special Foam tastes different. prefer the one here yo!

plan was to hop on the shuttle bus from Galaxy Hotel to The Venetian (around 20 mins). but since we didn't know how to walk back there, we took a cab only to realise it's just walking distance. =.=' funny thing was the taxi driver did not stop us at Galaxy Hotel so i asked him where is he taking us to. :O apparently, i just told him 'Galaxy' and he thought i meant 'Galaxy Casino' which was located at Taipa Village. =.=' there seems to be no where to make a u-turn so i told him to just take us to the The Venetian since it's sort of like where we were heading to. less trouble for both parties. ;)

first stop in The Venetian was to nom nom the Pork Chop Bun (PCB) from Cafe Tai Lei Loi Kei. PCB is by all means Macau's favourite snack and this place serves the best PCB (well, that's what i've read)! the one here is the branch whereas the "HQ" is at Rua do Cunha (opposite Galaxy Casino). too tired and lazy to walk there under the sun (it was about 4.30ish in the evening) so just settled for the one here.

should have just bloody walked there cause the one here is not good! i've read so many blogs saying how well marinated the pork is that you can eat it on its own without any sauce/greens + aromatic + flavourful + pan fried in their own juice. and the bun is supposed to be lightly crisp on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. the PCB tastes so bland to me and the bread was not soft at all! :( i will deffos opt for the "HQ" during my next trip!

no pictures of The Venetian cause my battery died! T_T all we did there was walking around + light shopping. what else can one do there anyways besides gambling? not like we did cause we're total noobs. :P

in the evening, we took the shuttle bus from The Venetian back to the ferry terminal for the 7 pm ferry. walloped the last 2 Pou Tats + some Poon Weng Kee Biscuits + forty winks.

back in HK, we continued our night by shopping in TST. had super late dinner cause by the time our food arrived, it was almost 12! cause the stubborn me wanted to search for this Wan Tan Mee place but to no avail. no one seems to know where it is as well. :( Mr. Dong suggested Nice Congee Porridge since it is recommended by the Michelin Food Guide. turns out the food here is pretty good. :D

we ordered 2 Set Dinners (porridge + noodle + drink) and Crispy Spicy Frog. abso yums! managed snap one last picture before battery got totally drained.

P.S.: arrived at the hotel at almost 2 am and saw 2 fire engines in front of the hotel. *faints* first though was all my shopping haul from Day 1! LOL. thank God it was nothing major. apparently one of the hotel guests did not close the shower door while he was bathing and the smoke triggered the alarm. =.=' well, that's what the receptionist told me. idk how true is that la.

last Saturday, we went to meet Yu Peng who's in KL for a few days together with Evon, Yuli and Joseph. quick catch up session over their super late lunch (it was about 4!) at Sushi King. we left after getting Bams food and headed over to Bangsar Village for dinner.

this is our second time here at Ben's General Food Store. we kinda like this place for the wide selection of fresh salads but to our dismay, only 3 options left that night. it was only close to 8 pm but the place was packed to the rafters! :(

pizza seems to be the spotlight for this place with around 20 choices to choose from. they even have dessert pizzas!

not much options for their Hot Deli items. only 8 choices such as lasagna (which i had the last time), pies, meatballs, etc.

* Chicken Parmigiana w Caesar Salad

dinner ended with a delectably rich shot of caffeine - Macchiato.

they also have a variety of daily desserts on display next to the salads. we were too stuffed to have any. :/ my suggestion is, if you're ordering a pizza, don't order anything else (apart from salads) cause it's good enough for 2 person. very filling! unless you're a big eater.

uhmmm. not really a place for you to sit down, relax and chat with your friends cause it's kinda noisy and seems like an expensive fast food restaurant to me. besides, the seatings are not that comfortable as you don't have much space cause you have to share your table with others. i'm not sure about the human traffic during the morning and evening. both my visits here are during peak hours - lunch + dinner. but if you're looking for a healthy quick bite then you can head down there. if not, don't bother. :)

my Bambie turned 5 last month on the 27th of July. first time celebrating her birthday together cause i'm never home for her birthday. :( but i do send her gifts though. ;)

just in case you've missed out my updates (or maybe i didn't mention in my posts), Bambie is now in KL with us in our new place. :D

managed to find this bakery online - Pawz Bakery (which has a long list of good feed backs from customers!) and ordered this super cute barkday cake for her.
